Neon Lizards: Icarium - 2020

These are digital "Neon" edits of Lizard drawings. The basis for this series is a detailed anatomical study of lizards, focusing on their movement and physical structure. Notice the intense look in their eyes, as if a small lizard is watching you with the intensity of a dragon. The posters are designed to capture that hidden power and depth in their eyes, making the fierce, dragon-like gaze come to life in a visually powerful way.

The goal here was to take simple sketches on white paper and elevate them into something more interesting to adorn the walls of my student room in university. I wanted something visually striking and intense which is something that would fit perfectly with the intense gaze of these tiny lizards. The main creation process was done digitally to help enhance the colors and to create the textures, this was the first time where the digital process to precedence of the drawing itself to create an artwork.

These works come in various different intense colors for each lizards to bring out different vibes to help them fit in with different spaces depending on what I'm looking for.

Headspace - 2022

This work is based on a practice sketch created during art classes I took while studying in Bulgaria. The original drawing depicts a head constructed in a style different from my usual approach. I was introduced to an academic tonal drawing method in which the image is built through mass and shadow rather than line. This involved using an overhand grip that prioritises value and form over contour. This was very different from my usual drawing style, where I hold the pencil in a more natural writing grip, resulting in a more structured, line-based construction. The exercise was challenging but rewarding, as it forced me to approach drawing from a completely different mindset.

The final piece was digitally edited into a fading composition with multiple colours, creating a pop-art influenced effect. It plays with contrast and dissolution, aiming to capture a melancholic expression of the subject while forming an abstract fading pattern. To me this artwork is a memory of a interesting time spend abroad where I had the opportunity learn a little about a different school of art and was allowed to explore my creativity in a way that I had not done before. These are valuable experiences that I remember fondly.

Expedition Into Nothing - 2022

An exploration of digital landscape art. Whilst I sometimes feel limited in my ability to construct full scenes using digital tools, I do enjoy the freedom it gives me to experiment with color, shape and composition.

In the future I would like to use this more in animation projects, or combine it with my hand drawn work to create a mix of digital and traditional techniques.

Ravenflight - 2025

This is an animation made of twelve hand drawn frames of a raven flying across a fantasy background. In this project, I studied the movement and anatomy of ravens and crows to create a more natural, hand drawn style.

I have a strong love for animation, especially the hand drawn work from the eighties and nineties. To me, those films carry a sense of soul, where you can feel the dedication in every frame. In contrast, modern CGI and large scale animation can sometimes feel so smooth and flawless that it loses a bit of its human touch and relatability.

With this work, I am trying to reconnect with that feeling. I will continue creating small animations like this alongside other projects as a personal passion.
